UX/UI
I never formally studied UX or UI design. It was something I picked up out of curiosity and necessity. Countless late nights spent watching YouTube videos about web design and consumer behavior slowly turned into a self-taught obsession.
Key elements of website design & management
Designed with the entire user journey in mind. Encouraging meaningful actions, whether it’s clicking a CTA, engaging with an ad, or signing up for a promo.
Simple, intuitive, and designed so users can easily find what they need and enjoy their time on the site.
My first real lesson came when I was running a retail store and needed to build our e-commerce site from scratch (sadly, I never archived how it looked). I started with Shopify and later transitioned to WordPress, where I discovered a deeper understanding when I was entrusted with managing the websites for a Goodman Films and Antics@Play, giving me hands-on experience in shaping digital spaces that feel thoughtful and human.
During my time at Antics@play, HomeTeamNS was going through a rebrand and i was task to re-design a part of the site under one of the sub-houses, Aqua Adventure. Previously another designer had already did it but was deem “boring” for the client. I ensured that when i designed i had to make it “fun” and “make it pop”. The design ended up being used in their current site.
Other than design, web maintenance is key for an optimized site. Being able to communicate the problem with the 3rd party vendors is crucial.
